The PERACE Revolving Fund is a mechanism designed to facilitate household access to electricity. It makes it possible to prefinance electricity connections and reduce the initial cost borne by beneficiaries, who can then repay gradually.
This mechanism is one of the project’s major innovations. It helps accelerate connections, improve access to energy and strengthen PERACE’s impact among local communities.
By the end of April 2026, nearly 370,000 connections had already been completed through this facility, providing access to electricity for nearly two million Cameroonians. The repayment rate for household prefinancing exceeds 90%, confirming the strength of the mechanism.
The Revolving Fund is therefore recognized as a successful experience and a model that can inspire other energy access initiatives.
